**Semi graphic pictures** chicken leg exploded

id wrap with vet wrap. she will learn to get around on the one leg and she can lead a fairly normal life! you might want to start a antibiotic like penicillin to prevent farther infection. keep a antibotic sauve under the vet wrap while you wrap. this is what id do cause i wouldn't want a secondary infection  from this. best  of luck to you!  with some TLC hopefully she will be just fine.
thank you do I have to give it to her orally because we have some antibiotics for our dog that she didn't end up finishing should we give her those and we don't have vet wrap at the moment but we are getting some soon right now we have gauze and tape on it. Am I still going to be able to show her in 4-h also the other one is starting to look like that too idk if its just fluid from the joint or if its going to fall of too

Not to sound harsh or anything, but since you are stating you are in 4H, maybe you should consider some basic poultry care classes and or research. I am not sure how a chickens legs would freeze solid unless provided inadequate care and housing. You need to get some quick medical advice from a vet or I would just recommend euthanizing this hen since it does not appear to are equipped or knowledgeable to provide the care this hen needs.. it is going to take more than "vet wrap".. no you can't give the chicken dog medicine. Penicillin would be given via a shot. You would need to purchase a bottle of Pen from a local Tractor supply or other farm/livestock supply shop (it is kept refrigerated). Please please please do some research on chicken care. They are a lovely and enjoyable animal to care for and they provide you with entertainment, eggs, pest control, fertilizer, etc. You have came to the right place for help but prevention is worth pounds of cure especially in this case. I would imagine this has to be painful for this hen and I would take that into consideration also! Showing this bird is not recommended. Immediate skilled trauma care or euthanization is my recommendation!

Ok I have Owened chickens all my life my Roos pushed her out of the coop and she never healed properly when we hatched chickens this year this was her first winter we got her froma n auction and i just don't know the 4-h vet standards this is my second year in 4-h thank you erymuch I did horses last year I ende up with these chickens in 5th grade for a science fair project so you think I didn't do research!? Yeah she is hopping around fine I am currently cleaning it off every day an wrapping it in vet wrap so it Dosent get infected she's in my garage in our isolation area and also we have a 1,500 dollar coop so we defiantly have correct housing it is off the ground.
