Sent in my show entry forms... how do my silkies look?? (PICS!)

Well, I sent in my entry forms to show my silkies. I got them tested for AI and pullorum and their test results came back negative!

I know I have to bathe them and trim there toenails, but is there any other helpful hints others can give me? I would greatlu appreciate it.

I'm having a hard time trying to decide about my silkie's crests and beards getting in their water containers.

I bought some of the soda pop bottle waterers for when I show. It sure helps with soggy beards and tops. They attach to a plastic water bottle and then just hook it to the cage with a spring or a zip tie. Put a little baby oil on their feet and combs. Makes them nice & shiny. Sprinkle a little baby powder on their bums. The poop(sorry) won't stick to their feathers..These couple of things should be a good start for you!!

Thanks for the tip on the waterers, I'll have to look to see if I can find some.

Just make them clean. Blow dry them and rub all their fluff between your fingers to make them dry faster and fluff up. Being clean is the biggest thing. And then cross your fingers!
