Separate pens in a coop for colors, breeds?

Hi, I keep reading about breeders and egg sellers having separate pens and runs for colors, breeds, etc, so they can sell and know they aren't mixed.

Anyone have links, pics, websites that could show how they do it?

Wow jean....that is nice. Are you putting doors on the outside runs? We are building a barn and trying to figure out the inside. Any pictures?

Our farm is an old dairy setup. The main barn is 50x100' with brick base and domed roof. It stays cool in summer and warm in winter. We tore all the old cow stantions out of there and filled in the gutters. Building pens was fairly easy... We dropped 2x4's down from the hayloft rafters and went from there. I have 2 big growout pens that are 10x30' each, 2 other pens that are 10x12', and 5 more pens that are 4x10'. I have room for 1 more pen on that side of the barn. The other half of the barn is set up with horse stalls and hanging 2x3' rabbit cages. Those cages can also be used as breeding pens for bantam pairs or trios. Our waterfowl is out in the back barn and other outbuildings. Pretty easy to set up cattle or hog panels and straw bales for temporary goose/duck pens during breeding season. For the rest of the year they are all combined in a 1 acre pen connected to the back barn and a small pond.

BTW Jean... That is a gorgeous setup!

Those are great breeding pens Jean and I would love to see a pic of Destiny's Barn on the Outside, it sounds just perfect. Wow. I am jealous, but inspired!

Its nothing fancy but it works. The main barn has an attached lean to/pole barn kind of structure off it too. It is used for the cows in summer and hay storage in winter. Quite a few outbuildings that can be used and a couple that need to be tore down.
