I watched for about half hour. So far so good. Albert did his usual reminding whose boss but nothing unusual.Yes. I'd put him in during daylight and watch.

Who's Albert...another male in the flock?I watched for about half hour. So far so good. Albert did his usual reminding whose boss but nothing unusual.![]()
Henry is our family favorite too! He has a hatchmate that is huge, Albert. Albert is the true king and will remind Henry of that fact. Nevertheless they have never fought in 2.5 years. They each have their own jobs and are fine with it. Henry shows the ladies which nest to pick. Albert oversees the flock and warns them of any dangers he sees.
Because Fitzroy is Henry’s son I had hoped to keep him around in case I need a new banty boy (I dread the thought of losing Henry). And Fitzroy has been a very good boy till now. As for freezer camp, that’s not off the table, but he’s barely a mouthful.![]()
Yes. A few years back a friend, that can’t have roosters asked me to babysit 2 cockerels (Henry and Albert) while friend of theirs finished building their coop. The friend wanted Henry. As for Albert, he could be sent to freezer camp if I didn’t want to keep him. Albert was a perfect gentleman and a wonderful rooster. My monster mean rooster had just passed away and I was well chuffed to have a rooster that never looked at me or any family member with murder in his eyes. Meanwhile I fell in love with little banty Henry, the flock clown, also a perfect gentleman and equally as sweet. And, you guessed it, the friend of my friend changed their mind. I was over the moon happy. In over 2.5 years they have been together with the ladies without incident. Occasionally Albert will pluck a feather from Henry just to remind him who’s boss but they’ve never even raised hackles at each other. Yes, I know I got really lucky. I tried to push my luck when Fitzroy hatched and I saw Henry had actually succeeded to produce offspring especially since my ladies are big girls.Who's Albert...another male in the flock?
Did I miss that part?
Oh. Not sure you mentioned a 3rd male in your OP.Yes. Ah well. If no one wants a sweet little pretty boy he’ll make a good bone broth.
I think you’re right, I guess that since Albert never got involved in the fighting I didn’t even think about him in my OP.Oh. Not sure you mentioned a 3rd male in your OP.
