I 'm sorry if this has already been covered. If the answers are already out there, please feel free to refer me to a prior post.

I have only 2 hens, a Maran and Buff Cochin. The Maran is becoming broody again and I am dying to get her fertilized eggs to hatch. I have read that you should set up maternity ward and move the broody into it, but with only 2 hens that spend ll their time together, I an reluctant to separate them as I am worried that it could be stressful for both girls. I would appreciate any thoughts.

Thank you,
Lynne

If the broody hen takes the nest that they normally sit on or causes them trouble, it is usually good to separate them. If separated she will be less distracted and less likely to leave the fertilised eggs when hatching.
