Separating chicks from hen???

I have 2 hens and two cockerels, the cockerels are about 19 weeks old and they are being really vicious towards my hens. When I picked up the cockerel they screamed but the mum hen didn’t come running so it seems like she doesn’t care about them any more? Would the chicks be ok by themselves because we have separated them and will the mum hen be upset or would she not care?

At 19 weeks you have nothing to worry about. Most broody hens stop tending to their chicks around 6-8 weeks but even if you needed to separate earlier than that they would have been ok, just possibly upset for a couple days while adjusting to new surroundings.
