Separating drake/mating questions-Pekin

I thought I would have till after the winter solstice before I would have to separate my two Drakes...One is 3 years old and the other is only 4 months..Nope, plan B is in place now..Casanova is being mean to Fabio so I have a Dog crate in the shed for Fabio and his sister...In the run they are fine...more room to stay out of each other's way...

Hello....I also might have to jump into plan C if Casanova starts really being aggressive ?...Little Casanova is getting a bit Randy..Plan C sucks because it requires me to winterize my Hospital coop and Run. Oh well another day with animals....

Ok so let me ask this, how long do I keep them separated? I mean is this an until the end of time or a couple weeks? Months.... I really am not understanding this whole breeding season thing!!!!

Breeding season lasts about 6 months then disapates when Ducks eclipse and then starts all over again...lol

Yes....Its not for the faint of heart raising and Breeding Ducks...Drakes are Randy little Devils..

technically when is breeding season? Since my guy just matured does this six months start now?

With Ducks it's fully understanding their behaviours that are actually easy to read if not putting human emotions on the Behavour ....They are actually simple if you don't over think the behaviours

Drakes breed the first year once mature...When he turns one he should go through an eclipse molt and won't breed until the molt is over...Then he will become Randy again...
