Separating roosters and hens

I am new with chickens, and don't know whether or not to separate hens and roosters. I don't want to hatch little ones all the time because I dont know what I would do with them. Back to the main thing, if I have to separate the hens and roosters, how should I go about that?

you can keep them together without little ones, just get the eggs out everyday and refriderate them and none will hatch.

Will it matter if the eggs are fertilized? Will the rooster stress the hens?
