Midlandchick
Chirping
we have 27 chicks that hatched on Wednesday: one has a weak leg and the other is very weak. He had a hard time getting out of his shell. The shell was still partly “glued” on his back until today. Warm water helped it work loose. The other chicks keep trampling these two. The person who hatched them for me put a rubber band on the weak leg to help it stay underneath it. (Said this would help. in a few days we wouldn’t know the difference.) The weaker one doesn’t seem to try to move at all. I want to separate them but am afraid the other chicks will reject them when they reunite if these two make it. Would putting a wire separator in the brooder be ok? They can still see each other but the others can’t keep knocking them over.
