Seperate cokerels and pullets?

My batch of 50 chicks are now nearly 4 weeks old. They are roughly half male and half female. I plan on butchering the males come fall. Is it advisable to seperate the cockerels from the pullets soon?

I didn't. My birds grew up with eatchother and when I butchered some, the others didn't seem to mind.

If you plan to fed them differently, then you need to separate them. Other than that, I know of no reason to separate them. They will all do fine on grower until it is time to process the males. The layers will not need the extra calcium until after that.

Why would you want to separate them? You may have a valid reason. I don't know your set-up.
