Seperate or not to seperate?

Thats definitely a good idea, will the cardboard on the bottom be a fire hazard with the heat lamp on the crate? It gets down to 60 in our house at night so I did put the heat lamp in there
Good to ask. The heat lamp will be far enough away. I had a heat lamp about 32/34" from the floor/bottom of brooder in the beginning and moved it up higher and slightly off from the end as I wanted lower temps. Does the crate/kennel have a wire top? If not, put a screen on top, in case the lamp falls. I would use a screen and extra clamps to secure ours.

You will need a thermometer to obtain the temperature at the bottom of the cage. As she is 5 weeks old, probably keep it about 70-75 degrees. Place the lamp so that one side is warm 75 and the other side is cooler, in case she wants to get away from the heat. If the crate is small, you may want to place the lamp a little to one side so it doesn't heat the whole crate to 75.

Possibly a little PT in your hand. Cup your hand and allow her to stand, if she will allow you without wanting to fly off. I had one almost doing squats :). Your hands can help her with balance from falling over.

…Hoping for the best for your little one. We have always used Dumor chick starter 20% and they have been fine. 3 years, 6 clutches. When I have switched feed, with any animal, I mix 25% new w 75% current, then 4 days later, do 50/50 for another 4 days, then 75/25 etc.
That’s how I do it as well.

It is cool where the feed and water is, even though it doesnt look like it lol. I will be taking one waterer out at night for more room as one is the poultry cell. That's the biggest crate I have at the moment unfortunately. I tried to put the heat lamp on top but it wouldnt safely stay, I ziptied the heck out of it right there. I'll have to get some cardboard in the morning to go around the edges. I appreciate yalls help so much

Will definitely be handling it to get it moving

What is the temp on each end?
Im not sure, I dont have a thermometer. Its not to warm on the side with the light , I would guess around 75ish,
It feels about 5 degrees cooler on the other side. It stays pretty chilly back there where it is, our heat isnt the best 🤣. It isn't panting or anything, it seems to just be chilling right there using the feed and water dish to keep its balance
