This is Gertrude my only gosling from my first hatch.

This is skipper my only ancona left from that hatch.

Was the dad a pure Araucana? I hear that being tailess makes it harder for them to breed.

Yes he was a pure bred rumpless.

I really don't think that was tge problem. I think he was just younger than I was told when I bought him.

People report problems with the rumpless breeds and others say that it isn't fertility problems but the ability to mount and balance to do the deed.

I have a pip in the duck eggs. Added a sponge and some water. Fingers crossed. I had set 4 eggs I have two really dark eggs in there. I would venture to say those are duds. The other one I am not sure about yet. Will keep you all posted.

I hope they all hatch for you. The two dark ones may be just fine!

I had gone to bed and awoke to loud cheeping just before 3. Like you can convince yourself not to get up and check? So i did. Went back to bed. Got up at 8 and 10 are out. Another zipped right now. Just one egg left and i don't think he made it to day 18

(I made the mistake of putting my incubator just outside my bedroom...didn't sleep for a week! )
