Wow congrats to all the new chicks! Very cute. I'm on day 11 and things are looking good, getting very eggcited!

So it's clear to me that my roo is a super stud. Every egg was fertile except 3 out of 29 and every egg I crack open for eating (and dog food) has the bullseye. So I messaged my cousin's wife that I have extras for free. She has a homesteading blog and has a 7 egg capacity incubator and last hatch was pretty dismal, only 2 and one a roo, which we're not allowed to have (mine is quiet for some reason). She's picking up them this week and super eggcited. It feels good to help out a fellow hatcher.

What breed is your quiet roo? I once had a Cochin who would rarely crow and was soft when he did. He's the only dominant one I had that wasn't really noisy.

He's a Rhode Island Red. He is HUGE too or at least compared to his hatch mates born this past March.

I have both my incubator and my brooder in the spare bedroom. It was supposed to be a safe place away from cat dogs and kids, but my two year old figured out how to open the lock with a coin just like we do.

The brooder is gonna be moved to the garage soon
There's scratching and peeping!!

I have sixteen quail eggs and picked up five to listen, and four were tapping and two of those are chirping. Such a sweet sound!

Yes, the incubator goes in the spare room. Thankfully, my daughter is ten and is very mindful and responsible at that age. The dog, though...

We just got into lockdown and i'm so antsy to see how many hatch! out of our original 24 we got down to 17, 4 from being infertile and 3 from no further development after day 3-5.
The BCM are all 6 in though as candling them gives undefined answers.

I hope I've done this right, that would be exciting for them all to hatch!! I've just calculated my weight loss though and it seems my smaller eggs have lost all the moisture they should in the total 21 days. The larger eggs are right on schedule.

I have added some more water to boost humidity, but i'm wondering if I should go to the total 65-70% mark if the larger ones seem good but the little ones are ahead?
I will be checking in another hour or so to see where they are at.

Out of the original 13 Lavendar Ameraucanas, it looks like I have 4 that are good. They have burns that I could clearly see and 2 were moving. Today I received 14 (not shipped) BBS Ameraucanas. 12 were already started and around the same age as my already set lavenders. The other 2 were laid today. Set 4 more Lavendar Ameraucanas today as well, these were hand delivered.
Here is a couple poor quality pics. ( Hopefully I will have better quality for day 10).
Day 7 Blood ring??? No smell yet so it stayed.
