They are due to hatch on the 8th, tomorrow so none yet. I'll let you know when they finish. The Bob White eggs that are due to day have yet to even pip. My incubators went crazy this month and i've lost alog of eggs from it. I hope I don't loose anymore.

My LG's have had me so frustrated. With the weather going from the 40's to the 90's constantly, I can't keep my temps stable. I lost 6 quail eggs and had to cull 3 chicks because their legs where all messed up. I"m sure it's from the humidity and temps going crazy. I lost most of last months swap eggs. I have 3 left and I think one of them died but I left it in with hopes it was just resting. I had candled it once and could see it's litle legs moving and toes curling up and streaching then the next time nothng. I lost a duck egg too. It was showing venis then next time nothing. At least so far I've only lost 3 out of 12 of the duck eggs and 2 where due to infertility. I have got to get that cabinet built. We have just about begged for parts. I can't use any from my bators because they are all in use.

I have a frizzle chick that hatched while I was out today. There are 2 more to go and they actually aren't due till tomorrow. They came from renagaderidgefarm. My little lone chick that didn't go out with the rest is very anxious to have a buddy. My brooder is right next to my hatcher and it knows there is a chick in there. She is going nuts. I let her see it. It was so cute. I opened up the bater just a little so she could see in and she was actually peeking inside. It was soooooo cute. I closed the lid and she went nuts. I reckon i'll put the new chick in with the other tomorrow.

I got two little fuzzbutts out of my eggs from Jennifer (soulsong). They're adorable! I'll get pics tomorrow of them. I'll also have to figure out who is who because they're in with my Production Red chicks. LOL

I set my eggs with a bunch of my own BO eggs. I thought I tossed all the shipped eggs from this swap before lockdown and only locked down my BO eggs, but I've been noticing one chick that looked a little... odd...

So last night I looked a little closer, they're about a week old now, and sure enough, I have a little RIR chick running around in there with my little fuzzybutt Buff Orps! I just thought it was a little rusty looking in the down, but it has that dark tipped beak that I didn't notice until last night.

I moved my Rhode Island Red Eggs and Green Eggs to the hatcher over the weekend.

I think the RIRs came from bigspringshatchery and the EE came from cooperscoops(I think - not sure). Hope to see some chicks when I get home from work!!

Well I had 5 out of 6 rir that I left in for lockdown cause I wasn't sure. One I was certain as I saw movement. Unfortunately none of them hatched. Only one had pipped through to the air cell. Don't know what happened to it. The other 4 were just dead. The air cells were oddly shaped and very large so maybe that had something to do with it. Not enough room to grow. Darned humidity, thought I kept it pretty even. Well at least I got 1 barnyard mix, 1 silky ee mix, 1 ee americauna mix and another pr americauna cross. Cleaned out the incubator and will be setting octobers eggs tonight.
