***SEPTEMBER HATCH-A-LONG come join in***

The chick is Ameraucana/Welsummer mix and Union(the broody) is a Buff Columbian Cochin bantam... She has OCD and is chronically broody. The roo is the Welsummer. I have a pic of the Ameraucana hen... She is broody too on 10 eggs. I think her eggs are due next week. The roo is the daddy... And I have no idea other than my brown EE which hens laid in her nest.

ETA: found the pic
This is Boo the chicks biological momma. She is a little off color from the dirt she bathes in.

Believe me, she's not as sweet as she looks! She would rather rip your hand off than let you see her eggs. She almost always sits with her bum to the front of the box so I have to lift her from her rear so she can't bite me. Otherwise she'll have a plug out of your hand before you could get away. She has super fast attack abilities. She's also an egg thief... Started out giving her the fake eggs cause she kept rolling Unions to her nest. Then she caught on to the fake eggs and would just move over to Unions nest when she would take a break. So I gave her a few real eggs, had to leave one weekend and a neighbor boy was taking care of the girls. He took the wrong eggs and Boo had stolen more eggs so Union ended up with one out of her original four eggs(other three were in the boys fridge) and Boo now has ten eggs under her. Sheesh, silly girl!!!

Anxiously awaiting lockdown on my silkie eggs....So far, 31 eggs look promising. Tonight, I am going to put a divider in the incubator, so I will know which chicks hatch from which seller. Hatch day is anywhere from Thursday-Saturday, so wish us luck

Congrats on everybody else who has chicks!

Great idea to put a divider in, I've got 21 silkie eggs left in the bator from 4 different sellers, I wrote on the shells who is who but realise it might be difficult to figure which chicks come from which eggs. Good luck!

Well, today should be hatch day, but so far, ALL day, all I've seen is two eggs jerk a few times....then stop. Come on guys, quit being lazy!@!!!!
I'm sure they'll make an appearance...when I'm at school all day tomorrow...
