***SEPTEMBER HATCH-A-LONG come join in***

Lockdown for me today!!!20 eggs still viable (had 24, two never started and two blood rings early on). Hatch day friday! Can't even remember the exact count, but I know I have one standard cochin, some light brahma, blue orp, cuckoo maran, blue/splash maran and BLRW eggs. Hey, I told the seller to give me whatever was laying.

Btw, if anyone wants a recommendation for an ebay seller that has fertile eggs for sure, PM me. Disclaimer: I have *no* association with this person and since I pick the eggs up directly, I can't tell if she has great packaging skills or not. Nor can I comment on the 'quality' of the birds, as I don't know quality from a hole in the ground. I just see 'pretty chicken' but not much more.

But I had 8/8 develop on the last hatch (one dead in shell) and 20/24 on this one with only two showing NO development. SO I'm a happy camper so far. if they don't hatch out, it's probably my fault.

Keep your fingers crossed!

That is a pretty roo you have... I really wouldn't know what breed or breeds he is. Mine is a Welsummer. I don't know if he is typy or not but we thinks he is really pretty.

day 10 on my 8 duck eggs (well I started with 16 for those of you who havent noticed) and when I candled, it was AWESOME! I think I may have gotten an amazing video of one of them moving like CRAZY. They were all VERY active and one of them I could even see the eye when it was wiggling around! OMG! I am sooooo excited! Come on day 28!

Well, just received 18 eggs, but incubator isn't clear as seramas decided not to hatch on hatch day. They're still good, just lazy apparently...

candled mine yesterday 11 are FBC marans and hard to see but only 1 looked like it had a bad air cell all of my eggs looked like they were starting so Monday I'll look again normally 1/2 of my shipped eggs get tossed so we'll see

I have 8 FBCMs in mine and my little flashlight just won't shine through them. Gonna try my little candling light Friday and see if it will be any better. Doubt it though, from what I remember, my candling light was dimmer than my little flashlight.
Aw well, good luck with yours they really sound promising!

Oh no, Well here good vibes that they'll pop their heads out soon so you can get the other eggs in.

Thanks! I don't even see any pips, and I'm fairly sure these guys are supposed to hatch at day 19!! GRRR. I think they're holding out for day 21, but some of the eggs I got sent are on their 10th day and need to be set NOW

*sigh*
I have a home made incubator that we have not yet wired the thermostat to, Im thinking of setting that up as a temporary measure to put the late hatchers in. I bought eggs from a real breeder this time and I don't want them to go to waste
hatch hatch hatch hatch hatch hatch hatch...I need to disinfect!!!!!!!!!!
