SERAMA ADVICE!!!!~~~NEW PIC's PAGE 10 l@@K!!!

If you decide to use these 2 for breeding, I think you have something to work with. The backs are a little long, but Ive seen worse. they look like they are crouching down in the pics, so its hard to tell the wing position. I think the leg length is ok. The combs look nice and straight, leg color is ok. Love the color! I think you should invent your own color line from these, call it tiramisu or something:D Ithe hen will probably not change much but I think the roo will do alot of color changing when he matures Looking forward to pics of the others, Maybe try some photos in their pen where they live so there is no crouching and you may get a better stance from them. One more thing, is there a POSSIBILITY they are brother and sister? looks kinda suspicius.

I'm all new to the breed so I was just oogling the pretty pictures LOL. I've a bunch of donated birds here that I'm trying to sort out, and a bunch of donated eggs in the bator. So everytime I seeeee the word serama I try to go and look and then read what people IN the breed say.

They all have good tailset, good leg color and length (not too short) but are a little long in the back. They all seem to be similar in type so you may want to cull the largest one for starters. They are still young and they can change quite a bit in a few months, but none of these will have the extreme type If you have the space its better to keep the rest and see how they turn out before culling. I like #1 also! but does he have a feather growing out of his leg?

I also had 2 more batches one batch I sold out of completley they were mostly black, I like the lighter colors. The 3rd batch is still too young to tell about 2 months old maybe. Their is 2 roo's and 3 hens in that batch So I'm hopeing they are pretty good quality I know the parents or the pic's of the parents looked pretty good. I'm hopeing for a roo out of that bunch with better back length and I'll keep my hen from this group and hope to breed it out

IMHO, and I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but I wouldn't use any of them. They are long backed, long in the leg, high in the wingset, and don't seem to be carrying much depth to the bodies.

A youngster like this if it was going to be a good bird would show you already. Color is great added bonus, but remember that TYPE is what makes a serama a serama. And this batch just doesn't have what it takes to make the breeding pen.

I've been in Seramas for 6 yrs and 9 months. It's a hard breed if you don't start out with the correct typed birds.

The bird in my avatar, although I realize you can't see him very well, is a Malaysian Serama. He's just starting into a molt, so has dropped his sickles, but that will give you an idea of TYPE. I know, he's just a plain ole wheaten bird, no spectacular color on him.

I understand what your saying and I asked for honest opinions, and I know that these are not the best quality and I'm willing to work to get the best quaility I dont plan on saleing any eggs or saleing any offspring from these until I feel I have finally got the right quality. I just need a decent starting point. I'm hopeing one of the roo's in the other batches are more up to standard than these, and honestly they look better in person, 2 of them actually have pretty short backs when they are in their stance, but gettin them to do if for a picture is another thing..lol

When I decided to get into them, I knew I wasnt' goin to be able to jump right in. Ive ordered 3 different batches from people, and from the pics they looked to be good quality. I do love the color of these and would like to be able to use at least one of the roo's with a shorter backed hen or a shorter backed roo with the hen to get started and breed out all the flaws eventually. If I'm crazy or goin about this all wrong please let me know.

Thanks for all the opinions and info, keep them comeing
