Ok I have 2 SilkiX hens, they’re both pretty small. I just purchased a pair of Serama’s. I’m building a separate pen for the Serama’s because the majority of my flock are standard sizes chickens (aside from the 2 SilkieX). I’m considering putting my little Silkie girls in with the Serama’s once I am satisfied with their health and well being since my Silkies are at the bottom of the pecking order and are significantly smaller than my New Hampshire roo (they’re looking a little ruff from breeding). My question is, has anyone kept Serama's and Silkies together? The Silkies are small but still bigger than the Serama’s so I don’t want them to bully the serama hen but I’d like for the little roo to have a couple more gals. I think the Silkies would appreciate a more appropriately sized roo as well. TIA!

Here is a picture of my mom with the newbies :D

Have never kept either breed, but I do keep bantams and large fowl together.Silkies are pretty docile and easy going. With adequate space they should be fine.If anything you might have issues with the seramas picking on the silkies, have heard them to be a smaller bossier breed, and always see videos with them fighting larger birds.

I don't keep my silkies with the big birds anymore, I had two hens die after being jumped on during the rush to jump off the roosts in the morning.

I don't know what attitude seramas have but I would say it should be fine as long as they have enough room to run away if need be.
