I have this 4 week old serama chick who suddenly fell ill. He stopped eating and drinking and became sluggish. I'm thinking it is coccidiosis so I gave him some amprolium and am waiting to see any results but I'm a little unsure of this approach. I also gave him some baking soda dissolved in water to help hydrate him as I don't know when was the last time he drank properly. The rest of his brooder mates are completely fine. I have had him for 2 1/2 weeks now with no issues prior to this. Please help, I really love him!

Do you have Corid in the water? Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Once a day in addition you can also give 0.1 ml per pound of the undiluted liquid orally. If she is too weak to drink offer the treated water often throughout the day. Stop giving baking soda. I would put 1 tsp of sugar in a cup of treated water, and use that instead.

Thanks, I already did the Corid as you said and I will try the sugar water instead. He seems to be willing to move around a cry so hopefully hell get better
