Pics
Okay. Here's my white singleton and two of the six from the last hatch, who all look exactly the same.

They are adorable! Love those babies

Hello all! Another Oregon serama addict here! And BYC newbie. :)

I've been coveting these little birds all year and finally acquired a small breeding flock a couple weeks ago. I set my first batch of eggs in the incubator last night, 12 eggs, SO excited! This is also my first hatch, period, so I'm mentally prepared for it to go south but hoping for the best. I added some eggs from our mixed flock of big girls too, so if the serama eggs are a complete bust, we may still have some chicks... I also get to find out whether our banty cochin rooster is able to complete the deed with his full-figured ladies, also also the big girls are still laying their starter eggs so maybe those aren't going to be any good for hatching chicks from but we'll see! Chicken Adventure!

Since I don't have any chick pix yet, here's one of our little hens caught mowing the lawn:

Congrats on your new flock and welcome to the hatch a long! How old are your pullets/ hens? She has very pretty feathers!

I have one little girl sitting on some eggs under some blackberries. I wanted to move her out of there but getting through the black berries at night has discouraged me ; )

Hello, and thank you! I was told they're approx 1.5 years of age. We've got 5 girls (1 silkied) and 1 roo.

Oh gosh, under the blackberries! How long has she been sitting? That's one of your serama girls?

Maybe you can entice her out with some treats?

It's day 6 here on my incubation. Things are looking pretty great so far. Out of 12 serama eggs, 11 have veins and there was one blood ring egg, which I tossed.

Of the non-serama eggs, a few looked like they may have veins, others looked clear and one (an ee egg) was too dark to see anything. It's a lot harder to see what's going on in those large brown eggs so I left everything in besides the blood ring egg.

Humidity is looking good. I've been keeping it around 54-55rh. I calculated for a weight loss of 13.5% by day 19 and so far the weight is on track, whew! :)

I can hardly wait for hatch day(s)!
