Chirping
The chick is not. I'm not sure if its a carrier, but I'm guessing no.That behavior is a pretty good indicator, usually the pullets just stare at them in confusion ; ). Is that chick silkied?

Here is the one I think may be a boy. Zero comb, but only 3 weeks old. Only behavior says boy.
I am trying not to freak out right now, but I did a quick candle because you can usually see an embryo by day 3 or so. I am on day four and I could see a couple of large embryos in 2 of my eggs. TWO!! Out of a dozen. Okay, I am freaking out. We will see, but a lot of the eggs look old. It might be because I spent more money on these eggs than any others and that I drove a couple hours to get them, but I am not happy.
Hopefully there will be a few more developing, I will give them some more days... before I really get upset.![]()
Darn it!!!![]()
Hopefully you'll get a couple more to develop.
I think I'm gonna try one more time to try hatching shipped silkied serama, but I'll probably still get the pullet.
I totally understand. I set 48 silkied serama and serama X EE but only got 2 to survive hatch, but the only ones I'm ****** at are USPS and that's about as useful as being mad at the wind when it comes to hatching eggs going through the post
I'm close enough we could do trades............. "if" we can ever get silkied birds to hatch that is. The ultimate goal of my project is to create a serama sized bird with silkied feathers and a pea comb that lays blue/green eggs.
I also might be moving back to portland next year if my hubby gets a job he applied for with the state.
Is it the swap your talking about down in corvallis?
Yikes, that is a lot of eggs! It might be cheaper even to have a nice pair shipped to you. The things we do to fulfill our chicken dreams!
