I still need a Maran simply bc of the dark brown color. I want chocky eggs. (My 2 yo says "chocky milk" so I figured I'd share the word)

I have one midnight Marans, her eggs are gorgeous, definitely want another marans, maybe a BCM next.

They all lay dark brown, not sure which ones lay the darkest. I've seen a color range chart posted somewhere on the site, some are like milk chocolate and some are like 87% cocoa shade!

My Duchess has medium dark eggs. Her eggs are usually so perfectly oblong I can't tell the "pointy" end for storage!

Cuckoo Marans lay dark speckled eggs, not as dark as others though.BCM are supposed to lay the darkest eggs

I have a silkie that lays nearly perfectly oblong eggs. I sit there and stare at those long enough, I think I have it. Then go to set them and I stare all over again lol.

Well if they are oblong. Isn't up down and down up? There is no wrong! Lol.
