Hiya,
My serama hen has a blocked crop. How do I help her? Vets aren’t open until tomorrow and I can’t afford a bank holiday call out charge. She’s really not very well. Thank you

A gentle massage can help, as can feeding a bit of oil like olive oil or coconut oil (or even mineral oil or lard!) to help soften and lubricate the mass and the passageway. There are also other things that can be done if the massage and lubrication doesn't work, but continue to try this for several times a day. Keep her away from others, near you, in a crate or box or cage (and it needs to be warm and comfortable), so you can tell whether she is drinking and pooping properly.

Is the serama eating and drinking? I would try to get a lot of water into her. If she will eat some watery feed, you could give 2 ml of mineral oil in the food or some soft cooked egg. If you know how to tube feed, giving a lot of water with some crop massage would be the best. A vet could do this as well.
