Serama Housing?

The breeder I'll be getting our pair from is trying to create calico colored ones, like a cats fur. Hope it works!!

hight, you want at least 2' (24") if you have a perch, 2.5', in a pinch you can have 1.5 but they don't like it, get one as wide / long as you can. they like to strut back a forth. big showoff's

No, color variety throughout the bird. She's had one hatch that was white with bits of black and brown at the tips of her feathers. I think she's trying to get the mixed brown, black, and white effect of a calico cat.

Ill have to go take a photo of my roo, I've a hen thats tri too. I get that pattern quite often. Love the look of the tri-color. I love to here how her birds look when she get adults. there is no color standarnd in serama and that part of the fun.

Will putting a dark blanket over the cage help the crowing a little?

I think doing this would cause them to get depressed. It's normal to crow during the day, and if the lights are out at night they prob won't crow at all till morning.

One other thing to consider is the dust! BIG TIME dust. I had a serama rooster in the house for a month and I can't believe the dust that accumulated all over the house...not just in that room.
