I have a silked serama rooster about one year in a half old he has been molting but seeming weak his comb turned pink but his crows are so much quieter than regular but he seems to eat and drink fine he just doesn’t run away when I try to pick him up like he usually does what could be the problem?

Do you have photos of him and his poop?

What do you feed?

Often molting birds don't feel well. I'd make sure he's eating well and drinking. Adding extra protein a few times a week can be helpful. Egg, fish or meat can be given in small amounts in addition to his normal feed.

I had a two year old hen that went through a very bad molt, at least in my opinion. The same thing happened, her comb turned pale pink, she was very lethargic, stopped laying eggs.

I made sure to give her more than her fair share of hard boiled egg yolk during treat time. She got used to that and ran to me in the morning even after she got her beautiful feathers back to be the first to have the best piece of egg yolk.

I also give all my new chicks or goslings hard boiled egg yolk to get them off to a good start.
