i have also set some more eggs to go with the 3 i have at the moment, they are really tiny, i have crushed up their chick crumb to help them eat, they are eating and drinking, so this is first night in the brooder. i have a ceramic bulb and plenty of space to cool down or get warm, the choice is theirs. they are as small as my little quails i hatched out last year. hope these little ones survive.
Hi, I had two broody bantam hens and ordered 6 eggs for a Mother’s Day gift to myself. I thought it would be fun to try, but had little hopes of success as my hens have never sat on fertile eggs and I had also read Serama were difficult. I received 8 eggs and as instructed, let them sit in the box for 12 hours before slipping them under my hens. On day 20, I got 6 little cuties!!! The momma hens were great and all are doing well now at 5.5 weeks. I don’t know anything about incubators, but wanted to share my recent experience.
