So I'm getting a pair of seramas tomorrow tomorrow morning they where due tonight but the breeder said he'd prefer to send them during the night to reduce stress and I agreed it would be better for the birds so tomorrow they should arrive ready to be lut in there new home then that eve
I'm just wondering I usually put the birds in a smaller place just so I can make sure they eat and drink and are 100 percent healthy would I be better to just put them in the new cage or is this okay?
They are bout 5 months or so rooster is a blue colour hen is white with black I know they wont meet the real standered but before I invest more into them I'm giving these ones a u could almost call it test run
I have already bout a special meal that I hot of a friend who get it for his smaller bantam birds its supposed to be very good he says but I'll change if I find they aren't doing ro good on it
Does anyone know if they are hard to hatch as I heard that they are near impossible to hatch and raise with other chicks they need to be raised on their own so I'd this turns out to be true I'll just set their eggs under hens
Ima post pics when I get them tomorrow if they arnt to stressed as I know they are extremely small and I'm taking all the precautions I can to make them most comfortable
Hope use can help me and learn with me more about the serama

I breed seramas hatch eggs all the time. The eggs I set in the bator tend to have a lower hatch rate but seffinatly not impossible. My broody set eggs hatch with almost 100% hatch rate.

How big is the pen you have set up for them?

The pen they will end up in a pen roughly 5 feet high 4 feet wide and 6.5 feet long with a run but I am thinking of putting them somewhere else as ive noticed a lair of hawk flying over so ima put nets over everything to not allow them.to get a taste for chicken
The cage I'd be holding them in for 2 or so days is 4 foot wide 2 foot high and 5 foot long the birds themselves are very small tho the breeder says they can both stand in ur hand together to show how small they r
Thanx tho for clearing up the chick part I was starting to worry I wouldnt be able to breed them but I have a drinker for bantams it's just smaller area for the water to get out

What sort of diet do u give ur chick seramas and ur adult ones? If u dont mind me asking

I also have ducks and large fowl chickens so I feed all flock or chick started whatever is cheaper at the store. Its a crumble but I'm sure they can eat pellets too I've just never tried cause both all flock and chick starter are crumbles. But both feeds are higher in protein and domt have all that excess calcium in layers feed. Easier on the boys kidneys long term. If the shells get soft I feed crushed up egg shells.

You can keep them in the smaller pen if you want it dosent really matter I think you could monitor them enough in the big pen as well. I'd put some electrolytes or nutri drench in there water just to boost there system.
