I'm not gonna tell ya anything but that they are weeds that should be left alone! Just forget you ever saw them as they won't hurt a thing.

*Waits for darkness*
*Sneaks into Featherbaby's yard and loads the truck with what appear to be spaghetti squash and fat Zucchini OR ginormous 8 balls (a zucchini variety).*
* Makes bread with the zucchini*
*Sells the zucchs and spags to the farmers market*
*freezes the left overs*
*sends Featherbaby a loaf of zucchini bread for Christmas from "my" homegrown squash*

KlaHaYa that was Hilarious!!!!!!! Thanks for the laugh! I cut one open. They are not spagetti squash. They are not Zuchinni (they start out fat and round and never have that elongated zuch look) They look like watermelons from the outside but have a squash textured pale yellow/cream colored inside. I cut them in quarters and let the chickens work them over. They ate them down to the rind. I'm going to try and cook some. Do you have suggestions on how to cook them? Do you have a recipe for squash/zuch bread? I've gone to such great lengths to preserve this "WEED" that I just have to find a way to use it! (Cheap or Thrifty? You be the judge).

We had a little thunder storm recently and the trellise bent all the way to the ground (didn't break though, a miracle!). The fruit on it was so heavy I couldn't pick it up to try and brace it vertical again. I had to cut fruit off of it just to be able to lift it. I cut off 13 (not all of them) of the biggest ones ranging in size from 4 -7.75 pounds each! No wonder I couldn't lift it!!!!! The vine is loaded with small ones......I am afraid......I am very afraid!!!!!

How you know your garden is a good size:

Mom said today, I have everything planted and still have room left..................

now to fill that too!

I wish I could say that everything is planted and there's room left! I'm usually saying the opposite.
