I dont want to open a can of worms BUT....

This is a predator and pests colum. If you dont like what you read or think someone is bat crazy or needs some therapy for saying they like to kill em etc.. Dont read it.
Alot of posts are getting taken out of context and then it gets locked.Dont click on the topic, dont read the post if it offends you how people get rid of the pests or predators. I can also understand that alot of people do not like killing any animals. But dont expect other not to do it and then chastise or report people of what they think is right to protect their pets and family.

Us.. beeing apex to most everything on the planet,we have to do what is nessesary to protect our family and pets. No one, who loves animals , wants to have to kill anything else that is alive. I think I speak for most of the people on this board.
I , for one ,dont kill racoons , cats etc because I like doing it. But sometimes it is nessesary to take steps that are not liked by others.
I just cant understand the bleeding heart people that think shooshing a coon or making noice to scare them off is effective. Relocating is a no-go in most states.

Calling people names and involving a moderator is a sure way to a topic locked in a hurry. I thought we where all adults here for the same reason. Is it possible to have a sane, respectfully conversation about pest removal and maybe come up with a new idea on how to prevent these predators and pests getting our chickens?

Like stated above.. If you dont agree with a persons way of disposing a predator.. fine..just keep it civil and think before you post a reply because you dont agree with the way it beeing done.

I agree as well. I don't think it is fair that some people come on here, break the rules and then get a thread closed down, thus ruining it for everyone. I wish there was a way just to lock repeat offenders from the pest and predator's forums so the rest of us who are abiding by the rules can continue to have peaceful discussions, and throw ideas around as well as support each other.

I would never kill an animal cause i am chicken but would get my hubby! I believe that everyone has the right to deal with predators on their property in their own way.

i would never knock someone for what they did to one, just not my business to do so.

It's a touchy subject that leads to a rise in tempature within people ,just like religion, politics and other highly passionate subjects.

i agree, don't read them if you disagree! there are plenty of things i do not open and read for i just don't want to even see it! Injuries are my no no i just wanna cry and can't take the pic's

It's a dog eat dog world...or, in many cases...a coon eat chicken world. It's them or our poultry, etc. There was a baby coon caught in our poultry netting yesterday afternoon. Today - it's dead. No excuses needed. That's just the way it is!

What the OP said is exactly what we're talking about. The rules were set up so folks with predator issues could vent, get advice, learn what works in prevention and eradication, etc., and not be chastised for their methods or decisions in predator control. The rules are stickied at the top of the P & P section. Please read and re-read, then abide by them. This is not a debate forum.
