I saw a flying something that I could not identify back in 2002. I woke up at 3:30 in the am- thirsty and looked out the window as I was getting up to get a drink of water. I saw a bright ovalish something in the air hovering for about four minutes and then it vanished. I was awake. I was not drunk or anything else. It was crazy and amazing.
I just read soem of the reponses and thought I'd add - we live by several bases. In fact Colorado has so many bases I really don't know the difference between them all, so it could have been something government.
Also, call me black helicopter crazy - BUT one day my son and I really did see a black helicopter.
We were cruising down CR 29 towards County Line road (for you CO peeps out by me) and there is this big ranch off to the left. They lie along a dry riverbed with lots of old growth trees and I swear there was a black helicopter hovering at the tree tops, it was no higher than 30 feet off the ground. It swept along the tree tops over and over and it was still there as we drove past. It apepared to me that they were looking for something.
My son and I just looked at each other - like O-KAAAAAAAAY.
I've seen all kinds of weird crap.
One time I was inspecting a farm out north of Lamar and there was a drone plane flying over the barns. Maybe it was PETA? It was a pretty big drone - like over 10 feet long and it was flying pretty low.
Last summer we were in bed and at around 11:30 (when it finally gets dark in the summer here in MN) I saw a REALLY bright flash, it lit up our room and made shadows on the walls, move quickly in a horizontal line across the sky for about 3 seconds, then it was gone....
I've seen things in the sky that made me wonder, but I don't know that I really have seen a UFO or the like.
I absolutely believe that we are NOT alone in the universe. I just wish the government would open up a little bit. Not sure what kind of panic would ensue... for instance...
I totally believe in ghosts and paranormal happenings. I love the thought of seeing something like that happen, but the second it does - I promise you I'm screaming like a little girl! So the public would probably panic if they heard about UFOs... but hopefully more would not be surprised and calm.
Edited to include: All of this UFO talk makes me want to watch Signs.
IN central ohio there was a write up in the paper in the 50's about a UFO that went over a ballfield when a little league team was playing. My grampa was part of that team and out on the field when it went over.
He's dead now but he was CERTAIN that aliens were among us.
I dont know that theyre aliens, I think the paranormal is probably more the supernatural.
And our military.
And for the record, I've seen a green light like that before- in the sky (we have northern lights up here in the north east, I know what they look like- this was summer time, and it was NOT a pretty little ripple in the sky) beside the moon.
UP here where we are there is a light in the sky regularly during the summer months and rarely in winter. It flies in the same pattern over and over and over, so slowly it cant possibly be an airplane, and I cant imagine who owns a helicopter and is spending all those hours flying in a triangle.... i imagine it can be explained, but it is awful strange. edit: at night. Its always at night.
I agree, it is very selfish for us to think that God made all these stars and planets just for our viewing pleasure
There was one time when I was about 6 or 7 years old. My family and I were coming home from a relatives house, and my brother (2 years older) got all excited, saying there was UFO behind us. My sister claims to have seen it, but by the time I turned to look it was nothing but a red speck in the sky.
My brother described it as being red, with lots of windows, and kind of like the shape of a goodyear blimp. It was night time, so I doubt there were any blimps out at that time, and there were no military bases any where near where we lived that I know of.
I've seen hundreds of Un-identified Flying Objects....but no space ailens.
And YES I do believe there are intelligent beings out there, they just aren't HERE, probing rednecks and making light shows.
Do you honestly think they have the technology to travel across the universe, just to CRASH in Nevada?

Yeah, we have weird military stuff here all the time. They are also scouting out down south of us, you know, trying to take all that land away. We have helicopters go over a lOT. DH has seen several huge low flying planes north of Lamar. They do fly really slowly. He knows what they are called but I forget.
I think that we would be arrogent to think that we are the only ones, but I also think that the military has a ton more stuff then we know about. And I think more of it is that. And I also agree that the paranormal is the supernatural.
True story: my dad was driving back from work up near our local apple tree field on a hill. It was just getting dark. As he drove, he saw something in the corner of his eye and looked out the window to see what it was. To his surprise, there was some type of flying thing that looked like an alien ship. It was hovering over the apple tree field. He drove a little, then turned around to see it again. When he drove past the same spot, it was still hovering, then it suddenly flew off really quickly. Really weird...
