You could turn the eggs by hand if you have time. And it's a good thing you faced the facts and got a bator, if you have chickens, sooner or later, you are going to get a bator, that's just how it is. LOL

Ahhh, yes- creating life.... 5 kids later, my hubby says I've done enough contributing in that dept!!!!

But, its funny you say that, I look at hatching eggs (under my current broody) as almost a 21 day pregnancy that I dont have to do all the work for!

I'm near Sacramento, so I think Modesto may be a bit too far for travel to get one, buuuuut I may get desperate (I can be a wee bit impatient) and be willing to make the trip if its a sure thing!

I guess that brings my grand total up to..drumroll please...8!!! Yep, 8 total, but so far only 1 grandbaby (hope it stays that way for a looooong time!) Congrats on your 21 though, a family is a legacy and a gift from God (but chickens are cheaper, LOL!!)

My hubby jsut gave me the green light to order eggs so of course that means I will be on the hunt for that egg turner 1st thing in the morning! Where exactly in Modesto can I find one again??? I plan on putting an egg order in tomorrow night, so I'm gonna have to get a wiggle on!!

Stanislaus Farm Supply on Service Rd also has them
Jesse's on Amador right off of Crows Landing has them. Sits behind a gas station there. I love these people. Family owned and very helpful.
There's another that probably has the Crossroads Feed. Hear they are well stocked there on everything. I want to go check them out, but I hear they have chicks that are not on my list, but that I want. Just not safe for me to walk in the door.
