Sertogate mom, week old poults?

All of the eggs are out from under her, or is she still sitting on eggs?

If unhatched eggs are under her I sure wouldn't trust her to take care of them.

All the eggs are out. I finally kicked her out of te nest box. The babies are following her around and she still sits on them, but she isn't feeding or watering them. I keep having to take food and water to the area she is laying in. The babies get up, eat and drink a little and then settle back under her. But, I did that in the morning yesterday and then she sat on them all day long and I had to do it again in the evening. This morning all the other birds were long since up and she was right where I left her. I had to make her move an spread some feed on the ground so the poults could eat. Are all turkeys this bad at parenting?

Sounds like the poults are getting enogh to eat, if they knew how to eat and drink already that speaks volumes about the hen's mothering ability. And yea, bad turkey mamas are kind of par for the course. I always get a chicken to brood them if I have one available for the job
