Black is actually normal in this case. It’s what a chicken scab looks like.

The Theracyn wound spray she has and the antibiotic ointment should take care of infection. But betadine is very good to use when diluted with water.

Is that ointment, cause if its pus it needs to be wiped away with soapy warm water, dried with a paper towel and sprayed/ointment applied. Others will hopefully see my tags and be here soon.

I think that opening is the ear canal too.

Is there any way you could take a picture directly INTO hole in the neck so I can see how it looks in there and how deep it is ?
