Went and checked on them again, and it appears the silkie is stuck to the other hatching egg!
She had trouble, but she got herself unstuck! And now they won't shut up. But my temp in the bator went down again. Poor babies are probably a little cold.
If the temp has gone down i wouldnt open it anymore now to keep what heat is there to stay in there. I would leave all babies in there for at least 24 hours. you can keep them in there for 2 days. if your temp dosnt go up at all and the babies are cold you will have to put the hatched ones under the heat lamp. I wouldnt give it anymore water. I know your trying your hardest hun but sometimes leaving them is the best medicine, a baby with shell stuck on it will be ok it will eventually come off. Try and sit on your hands for nowKeep us updated and i would love to see pictures...![]()
Yeah I am leaving it shut. She got herself unstuck, and I will leave them alone now. We had to get the one out though as she was pecking at the silkie, and just wasn't being nice. The other one I really didn't want to open it, but she she wasn't breathing well at all. The other 2 have been active, and such but she just layed their. But I turned the heat up, and both are doing okay. Only one more egg looks like it may hatch, so we shall see. I wasn't sure about the shell as I had heard of them drying on the babies. Being this is my first batch I don't want to lose any. Thanks everyone for all the help, thankfully they are all doing well now. My older EE's are a bit annoyed though that I took their lamp. (they are around a month and a half and almost feathered, they don't even need it during the day, just forget to shut it off cause they always look so cozy lol) I will post pics soon.
