Set 23 Call Duck Eggs Today 27/3.....Buddy's please, Duck or Chick

Is a little bit of fluctuating temps bad? I have to check my incubator a few times a day to make sure it isn't getting to hot or cold and often have to adjust. Is that bad?

How much of a fluctuation? What kind of incubator do you have and what are you using to measure temps?

I will set 24 chicken eggs tonight (barnyard mix). They finally arrived in the mail today after being sent out on SAT of last week!!! I hope they are ok. We shall see.

Its the thermometer that came with it. I compared it to a few other thermometers and it seemed accurate. Its a little Giant from TSC. The whole house fluctuates alot depending on the time of day so that means the incubator also changes. I looked earlier and it was almost to 110 and then other times its below 95. I don't want to wreck the hatch, but I also don't want them to either freeze or burn.

I set 12 call duck eggs yesterday.

I have hatched them once before, and have 5 little girls now who need a boyfriend, so trying again.

I don't want to worry you unduly but I would be very concerned about these temp fluctuations. I believe 107 is the maximum temperature an embryo can survive. Of course it takes a while for the inside of the egg to reach that temperature which is why I was asking if you knew how long it had been at that temp for. If I were you I would be searching for a more stable room to incubate in ASAP. Even a closet would work. Hoping for the best for you!
