Set 23 Call Duck Eggs Today 27/3.....Buddy's please, Duck or Chick

Candled all the runner ducks day 15 and i have 11 ducklings moving including my taped egg, there due the 21st April.

Candled my Call ducks day 12 and theres 13 moving around, took out the duds.

I also snook 2 polish frizzles that my polish layed to see if they were fertile and a lavender silkie off my mother in law :rolleyes:i set them so there due same time as the ducks and there doing ok too...:)

Fun! When did you put the chickens eggs in?

I put the chicken eggs in 1 week after the ducks so there due the same day. My Brinsea instructions reccomend the Temp for ducks & chickens but the humidity is a bit higher so im hoping there going to be ok? Only put them in to check if there were fertile then i thought what the heck ill leave them in there.

Well I candled tonight and only 2 duck eggs have movement and good blood viens, the rest are either clear or the air cell is all over. I guess thats what happens when eggs are shipped from half way across the U.S. I also candled the guinea eggs and 2 have embryos, 1 is iffy it looks like it may have a dark spot but the spot look to big, and 10 are bright and clear. Talk about a waist of $23 for those eggs. I really really hope at least 2 hatch of the guineas I dont think I want to hatch guinea eggs again, they are so small and hard to keep in place.

So question, if the eggs are bright and clear does that mean I was sold unfertile eggs ?

ETA: added pics

Guinea egg with baby

empty Guinea eggs --- had 10 of these

The duck egg pics didnt turn out, they were mostly dark and cound't make anything out.,

Hi hun what day are you on? Does the 10 eggs have any veins at all? If there all clear and not fertile you could always contact the lady and sometimes they send you complamentry eggs. My mother in law had 24 silkie eggs ages ago and only 2 hatched and the lady sent 6 more..

If they were local eggs then clear would most likely mean not fertile, but if they were shipped then they could have not started to develop due to rough handling, temperatures or a hundred other reasons, including fertility. I agree to contact the seller but personally I wouldn't start shouting about fertility right off the bat.
