Set 40 quail eggs today! *now with photos* *and a pesky question*

Very cool! Is your hubby mechanical? I have a turner that I was using up until a month ago, it just stopped. I'm sure it could be fixed, it is an older one with the egg cups I have both chicken and quail cups for it. If hubby wants to tinker with it let me know, I'll send it for the price of shipping.

I'm not sure if the turner would fit, the inside space is 12X13, he's um semi-mechanical building computers he can do blindfolded, but we pay for oil changes.

He's a science teacher and once Boyd explained I ws trying to explain making a circuit, he knew how to do it.

If it'll fit we can give it a try.

Awesome, Saddina, I'm right there with you! Put in over 40 from Ugly Duckling today, so we'll be hatching at the same time (fingers crossed)

They'll be my first quail too. I can't wait!

Cool a hatch buddy!

I'm still trying to sort out in my head how to set up the breeder pens the garage has some built-in shelves... I'm pondering making a wired cage door, and putting in a false wired bottom (making a 1x2 wire floor for the poop to fall thru on the shelving, covered in newspaper). Hmmm... post a pic and see what you all think?

****pesky question*** I see 98, 99, 100, 101 all listed as various temps, now is that inside the water wiggler or the air temp, I'm getting a few degrees differance in the 2 readings, so which do I use?

I go by the water temp because it stays the same & mimics the egg temp.

Being the nut I am I've got 4 thermometers in there....

I figured I'm just confusing myself at this rate. Since this is the first batch for me and the bator, I'm worried I'm not fussing enough. fussing too much, really chicks are easier.
