10 babies have hatched, a bunch more have pipped. I'm slow to upload the charts - too busy staring at silly babies!

We tried to follow the Weight Loss Method, and for the most part, did reach the goal of approximately 12-14% weight loss. I'll upload the rest of the weight charts tomorrow.

Average Ambient room temp days 1-10 = 66.1
Average Internal Egg temp days 1-10 = 97.0
Average Ambient Incubator temp days 1-10 = 99.0
Average Humidity Incubator days 1-10 = 33.8%

Average Ambient room temp days 11-18 = 66.7
Average Internal Egg temp days 11-18 = 97.7
Average Ambient Incubator temp days 11-18 = 99.2
Average Humidity Incubator days 11-18 = 44%

Average Ambient room temp days 19+ = 65.4
Average Internal Egg temp days 19+ = 97.7

Tough call, personally, I keep the plugs out the entire time. I rarely use them. The reason is .... one of my first hatches, it was terrible ....
I found out many had died due to my negligence of not allowing enough oxygen inside the incubator.​

I always keep the plugs out during incubation, but when hatching I leave mine in to help regulate the humidity loss.

How do you keep your humidity from dropping to dangerous levels Kathy? If I go to sleep I wake up to 30% and stuck chicks. Of course it is pretty dry here.

14 have hatched so far. A nice mix of olives and bcms. BOTH of the white/splash ameras have hatched.

Of the strange feather birds, egg 10 has a hole, beak is visible and egg 9 is hard to see, but maybe a pip? It's pretty chaotic in there. Babies flopping around everywhere.

Humidity dropped back down to 75% on the one instrument that currently doesn't have a chick sitting on it. No plugs were removed - watching for the 'too much condensation on the windows' trigger (and then placing the upside down plugs partly over the vent holes for a half hour at a time)

I do cover my incubator with a towel, especially when I go to bed or to work. I feel that allows more oxygen, and less drop in humidity. That is what has been working for me anyway.​

We had to leave the plugs in for the whole incubation period. It's very dry here (Southern CA) and we had to refill / add more water every 2 days or so. Middle tray (Hovabator) only, until lock down.
