Set 86 Eggs Tonight *FORTY-FOUR Hatched--Hatch Over *

Congrats on your hatch Cyn. Those are some pretty babies! I would like to see a more recent pic of Adonis too.
I am sorry to hear about your dog, I hope she feels better.

Oh, darlin', you have no idea! I'm about to keel over tonight. DH wanted me to watch a movie with him and I fell asleep in the middle.

Now, how on earth do I tell if every single chickster is eating and drinking? That light blue one (she really does look more blue now that she is completely dry) seems a bit slow to catch on, but poor thing just hatched early this morning, so I'll give her time. Was that this morning? I'm losing track here.

Those D'Anvers just jumped into everything on their own. They have very Delaware-like personalities at this point, fearless, super friendly, but in a tiny pint-size body. I'm in love already! All of them are so gorgeous, especially the BLRWs. They are little round butterballs. All of them look fabulous.

Here are some BRs, but not all of them. Have to wait till tomorrow and maybe I can get them all together somehow.

The red leg band is the one with a couple curled toes, but they are getting better as it gets stronger on its feet, I think. That is from your eggs, Kathy. The two I have in the brooder from your batch have "hot" colors, like your red hair, LOL. The others are from the Marvin Stukel lines (Pine Grove sent the eggs). I hated that the one we had to euthanize was a pullet, but that's the way it goes.

Sorry about this blurry pic, but you can see the plain-as-day cockerel head spot here. This is one that William sent me:

So, I have quite a few Barred Rock eggs in the incubator...heading to lockdown tomorrow night. Would ya'll explain about the head spot. Round is ____, uneven is ___? I know you can sex them that way but I always get confused over which is which....

I love all the pictures.....nothing quite as sweet.

Cyn,
My Barred Rocks feather in very very slowly! Much slower than the others. Look at these pictures. The third picture shows New Hampshires feathering in nicely, and they are younger than the naked BRs in the first 2 pictures.
