set eggs 2/5/11 due 2/25/11 anybody else?

Ok we have a chick out!! Question, he is knocking around eggs and pushing the thermometer around, should I move him to the brooder or wait. I don't want him to interfere with the other eggs but don't know.

Wow! That quick huh? Darn, mine better start pipping. This is day 21, gettin' worried....

Don't move him into the brooder yet. I always keep them there at least 10 hours. Some people move them when they are fully dry (which sometimes don't happen because of the humidity). But I found if I leave them in there at least 10 hours, I have less chance of splay legs and such.

Will his moving the other eggs around affect their hatch?

I would leave him till he is totally dry. Also, You don't want to open the bator if there are any other eggs that have pipped, you don't want to shrink wrap them!

I would let him be for a little bit, all his peeping might encourage the others to break free

I have 4 eggs that have pipped now

However, the first 1 that pipped yesterday day at 4:00 has made no progress whatsoever!! I am so afraid it has died

Just praying it is ok and is just taking a long break

and the first egg that pipped that I have been so worried about is making a little progress, so it seems to be ok:ya

HOW IS EVERYONE ELSE DOING?

smchickfarm I had 2 pip at 7 am yesterday and 1 hatched at 2 and the other didnt hatch until 8 pm. As long as you can see it beathing/moving, it should be fine

please ignore the date, my camera reset and I didn't notice until after

Well this one hatched out about 10 this morning. I left him in about 5 hours until he was dry. He was kicking around eggs so I moved him then. No other pips. Kind of worried. I know he was early but why aren't the others doing anything? I really don't want just one chick because I know it will become a house chicken and I don't want that!!!
