Set eggs 3/5. Looking for others to hatch with!

I have 8-9 days till my duck eggs hatch. I am going to sell them so if you are close to me and want some contact me. I live in Indiana. I don't really know how much to sell them but I am selling some for my FFA SAE. If you have any hatching eggs that you would kindly sell to me I am trying to get a good flock of chickens going so that I can breed my own. My Ameracunas that I hatched are doing really well. My uncle got a new house with and HUGE chicken coop for anywhere between 100-300 chickens so I am going to stock up. Contact me if you have any hatching eggs of any kinds or any chicks of any kinds for sale. Any offers would be greatly appreciated.

Wow!!!! Keep us posted on the duck eggs. They would be so cute if they hatched. I love our ducks. If I knew then what I know now.....I would just have 30 ducks running around here. They are so kind and beautiful. Of course, I saw that and I'm always hot on the hunt for some more chicks and eggs so I must love those chickens more than I'm admitting to myself! Our Pekins are about six weeks old now and they are turning white. I put them to bed tonight and just stood there admiring how beautiful they are.
If you were hatching saxony ducks, I just might have to drive to Indiana to get some, LOL! Someone close to me was selling saxony ducklings on CL this spring and the colors were amazing. The ad is gone now and it's probably a good thing. Six ducks is enough.

I only have partridge silkie eggs and I have a ton of them. I can send you pics of chicks I hatched about a month ago or so.....I guess they hatched 3/27. Let me know if you want to see them. I have quality breeders and I can send you pics of them also, if you would like. I have never sold any long distance before, but I would be willing to try if you were. They are fresh as all the girls are laying and I get about six or so a day. I am selling some to a friend I have that lives by me and then I was going to set the rest for me, but my incubator is always full of eggs I bought from someone else! Let me know as on Monday I will set all I can fit in the incubator for myself.

Jealousy on the coop

I am going to attempt to pull a wall down this weekend that we put up last summer in a horse stall and remake that room into my chicken housing until my coop is built.

Yeah, on the duck graduation (to outside, that is).

When do the d'uccles hatch? Wait, if today is lockdown...that would mean on Sunday!! I know, I'm just brilliant at math.

(Not really.) Good luck on ALL of them hatching.

Can't wait to see pictures too.

The d'uccles should hopefully hatch on Saturday. Have you any pipps on your Buffy eggs?
On your Hovabator did you raise the humidity to what the digital readout said it was or did you put in another hygrometer? I can't decide if it is taking a reading from the top of the incubator or the bottom or if it doesn't matter since there is a fan and it is keeping it consistent throughout. I don't want to be drowning the chicks!

Mi'a sitting on her eggs. She's darker than Gracie & has curly feathers on her back.
Mi'a & a couple of her babies
8 of the baby chicks. I did end up giving Mi'a 3 baby Silky's. They were just so lonely in the brooder box by themselves.

Blue, my 3rd and currently Last Cochin hen has eggs due today. One egg is pipped, 2 I can hear the chicks pecking inside and 2 I don't hear anything. She has all day and even tomorrow. Oddly enough I noticed that Mi'a naturally hatched chicks are slightly larger than the 3 Cochin/Cochin mix chicks that are 4 days older than her natural babies. The slightly smaller chicks hatched in the incubator and were under a heat lamp in a brooder box until I gave them to her.

Blue & her first chick, a Cochin mix. She also has an EE chick. 2 other eggs are pipped. Hopefully #5 will also hatch. Couldn't examine it. Seems the two hatched chicks, even though not completly dry wanted out from under Momma.

Last time I incubated, I couldn't get the hygrometer to read above about 65%. But, I noticed that when the chicks started to hatch, the corners of the windows sort of steamed up, so I was OK with the humidity level. Also, you cannot drown them during lockdown and hatch if your humidity has been good (or low) throughout incubation! As long as they have a big enough aircell to internally pip into, they should hatch fine.
We've heard peeping coming from under Buffy all day. This afternoon there was an empty eggshell in front of her. Soooooo, I'm guessing there must be at least one hatched baby chick!
We went to the feed store to pick up a few things.

(Why do I go the day after they get baby chicks in?) Anyway, we got a little Welsummer pullet. Just in case none of Buffy's hatch, we wanted to give her a baby. I named it Ginger.

I hope to add Ginger to Buffy's little brood as soon as possible. Do you think she'll be OK with the new hatchlings tomorrow or should I wait a couple days? She is currently in a cage seperated from the pecking silkies-in the same brooder, though. (Well, a couple were pecking her, most of them ignore her!)

Congrats on your hatched baby and your store baby. It is cute! Your DH is not going to let you go to the feed store anymore, LOL!
I bet she will take the chick whenever you put it under her. I've done it with broodies and they have never cared.
I'm so glad Buffy stayed put this time. I hope she loves being a mamma!!!!!
Send pics when the babies pop out from under her.
Oh, I love watching the babies under the mammas!!!!

It is just soooo cool to see this big fluffed up hen with chicks peeking out all over her body! Every time I try to get a good pic. of that the chicks pull back in.
