I set 1 dozen BCM eggs on the 28th. they should be hatching on the 18th.

Set eggs on 12/30. Have Wheaten Marans, Cuckoo Silkies, and Seramas in the bator. Should be interesting. The Marans are pullet eggs and hopefully fertile, the silkies are shipped eggs, and the seramas I'm not sure if they are fertile. I'll be setting more next week. I wish my EE's would start laying again after their molt. Ergh! I got one today, finally. I hope it is fertile. It will be crossed with my Wheaten Marans cockeral to hopefully produce an olive egger. I'll continue to collect Marans eggs, as I have some local people interested in buying chicks. I'm also bidding on more Silkie eggs. I'm waiting for my Call Ducks to start laying. It will be a busy month!

I wont even try to candle my eggs till 7 days. what do you use to candle your eggs i have a light with card board but i usually cant see any thing in the marans eggs. most of the time all i can see is the air sack..

well we are in lock down. i never did try to candle my eggs. I only opened the bator to add more water every few days. I figure by the night of the 18th i should now how my hatch rate will turn out. come on little Chickie's.
