KAHLUA, I had that happen to me last year. Had a temp spike like that, it turned out ok and all 7 of my eggs hatched!!!

That is a story....I'm so glad you checked and caught it in time. I can't tell you how many nights I have gone to bed at 3:00 in the morning because I was still fiddling with brooder lights and adjusting things in the incubator.
Three Reds are hatched and two great pips on others. Two great pips on silkie eggs. Baby #1 is such a cheerleader and getting them going. Every time one is about to hatch it runs over and cheeps and chips and on Baby #3 it stayed right there with it and pecked at it while it was being born. It looked like Baby #3 rushed things a bit about getting out, but is doing wonderful. I don't know if it just needs to fluff up, but Baby #3 look so tiny compared to Baby #1, but Baby #1 was born many hours ago and is walking really good and very fluffy. I have been taking pictures and will post some soon. I'm downstairs on the computer next to the incubator and I have to go upstairs to my laptop to upload the pics and I can't move myself from here. I don't know how much schooling we will get accomplished today with all the excitment!!!

I FINALLY DID IT!!!!... It took three tries, but I got it right this time....and it feels soooooooooo good

I'm sure my DH is very proud since he made these incubators for me.....he'll never see this, but thank you, honey!!!!!!

I know what the silkies in my bator will look like, black partridge. I am so wanting to see what Yetta's eggs in your bator look like. Poor Yetta, she hasn't gotten a baby yet. I will give her something if it doesn't work out for her. She's trying so hard!

Hi everyone....just candled and out of 11 of my cochin eggs 5 have little dancing babies inside 6 are clear. And out of 12 of wholewheatchickens silkie eggs there are 5 little dancing babies and 7 clears. Not throwing anything away yet tho because I'm not 100% sure and some of the shells are dark. So I am happy happy happy even if I only get a few. 10 is more than I ever thought would end up this far. Fingers crossed for everyone else

Ummmm......who are the clear ones? Are Yetta's all good? I am surprised, but then again I didn't get anything out of dark Earleen. All my other girls have been 100% Don't throw anything out if you're not absolutely certain. I'm not trying to say I've got all that on fertility, I just know what I have seen here. I'm thinking you had Yetta and Sophie eggs, but I can't totally remember. I have some of Sophie's eggs hatching as we speak. They look gold and black so I'm curious what they will look like tomorrow all fluffed up. So far I have four RIR chicks and two silkie chicks. Everything has pipped but one silkie egg and I'm hoping maybe I just can't see the pip.
My special Buttercup chick has been born. I can hear it peeping under Sophie. I went to the barn about 10:00 and it is talking loud and clear. I can't wait for it to make its grand appearance. I hope I don't see it and think it's the ugliest thing ever since I've waited so long to see it, LOL!
I'm off to take pictures and see who is going to be born next.

Well not so good news! I candled my eggs again tonite I had 1 BLRW that was clear and 5 with the DEATH RING!

Also both of my Gold Laced Brahma's had the DEATH RING!

I ended up throwing them out. I did have 7 BLRW that look really good and I can see the little baby's moving around in them.

I guess atleast I know how what to look for when candling I did ofcoarse break the shells and none were growing? But I guess 7 out of 13 BLRW ain't that bad. 60% If I can get them all to hatch.

Don't know which ones exactly....was just trying to get them all done and get the temp back where it belonged LOL. I will candle all again at day 18 and remove my egg turner and I will hopefully know for sure which ones. I know most that looked clear only had the A/B on them. And I have your eggs all together on one side of the bator and mine on the other side.
So happy you have babies hatching so well this time. You finally found the secret ... YAY !!! And sounds like the broodies are doing well too.
