Hi Ya'll I Hope It's Okay To Join.I Just Set 20 Duck Eggs Last Night,
I'm so glad you started the thread. This is the 1st one I've been a part of so I hope I hatch some![]()
Smchickfarm, don't tempt me. I have chickens coming out of my ears right now. I am finding all sorts of creative places to make pens for them and the dust in my house is starting to take over!!!! It's become an everyday chore trying to keep the shaving swept up.
Hi Ya'll I Hope It's Okay To Join.I Just Set 20 Duck Eggs Last Night,
Watch out....you're going to have a blast. Pretty soon you will be hatching just to have a hatching thread, LOL! The first one I did our eggs were hatching in the middle of the night so it was so much fun to have someone to talk to at 3:00 in the morning about chicks peeping.
I'm having a blast I just hope all goes well. This is my first time incubating eggs some people told me I shouldnt use such costly eggs? but I thought what the heck I own the breeders so it's not like I had to pay for the eggs. If your ever looking for blrw hatching eggs let me know. My current breeding program I have a Splash Rooster over 1 Black hen and 1 blue hen this producing 90% blue chicks and 10% splash chicks. Instead of the normal blue x blue= 50% blue,25%black,25%splash. I also have (Dan Powell) Gold Laced Brahma's if your ever looking for those. Anyways back to incubating for my first time I bought a Hova-Bator 1602N w/turner. I had it setup for a little over 24hrs before I put my eggs in I have had the temp set on 100 degrees and humidity at 45%. I got up this morning and my temp had dropped down to about 98 to 99 degrees is this bad? how far can the temp drop before it ruins the eggs? I have also had the temp rise just a little bit a couple times to around 101 to 102 degrees is this bad? how high can the temp get before it ruins the eggs? The humidity has always been around 40-50% never over or under. Sorry to be asking so many questions I'm just wanting to do it right the first time if possible. Any pointers would be great! Thanks
well, they are for sale and if you have never had bantam faverolle's , they are great!!!!! my son showed them last year, but he is not gonna show fancy birds anymore. I love the breed and these birds. It breaks my heart to sell them, but I need the room for my egg layers and his meat birds. I am gonna go back to egg layers, i miss the eggs and I have a lot of people wanting to buy eggs from me. I have a couple weeks for they need to go, so let me know!![]()
