Just got home, put little square of papertowel under the egg . Turned them.......................wait for it.........................

..............when I put the eggs back in, 1 started rocking !!!!! and my son swears he heard a peep!!!!!!!!!!

OMG WE CLOSE!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness !!! Now way !!! So exciting

I am up to 8 chicks hatched - I did lose one, 1 more is pipped and 2 are peeping. Nothing from the other 4, but I will give them more time!
This was earlier this afternoon - all went from pip to zipped in...about the 15 minutes it took me to take a shower!



This was the first one to hatch...

They are so adorable! I just locked down today. Hopefully on Friday I will have something to watch! Having a hard time keeping the humidity up. I have literally soaked the bottom of the incubator, and its running out the bottom!

What humidity are the two in lockdown at?
I couldn't get mine to go above 60% last week during lockdown and it worked out fine. When the chick started zipping it went up to 65% on its own and hovered around there. Then when I would get several zipping at a time, it skyrocketed to 80%. My DH rigged up two straws with a Q-Tip stuck in the end and wiped the top of the incubator windows off to get the humidity back down! I didn't have any chicks get stuck or drowned.

ok, so had an egg wobble yesterday.....no action last night or this morning. I am getting so excited , I always do right before they hatch!

My son is home on spring break, so he is on incubator duty and I have instructed him to call me with updates!!!! The buggers will most likely hatch while I am at work.................................

When you going into lockdown (tomorrow) do you put paper towels in the bator on top of the screen?

When I go into lockdown tomorrow at 1 pm I will put them into egg cartons with the bottom of the egg holders partially removed, and place some shelf lining stuff that I got at the dollar store. Its kinda like a screen but its a little sticky, so dishes wouldn't slide, and made of some sorta weird foam/something else material. I know other users use this also, I guess it makes for easier clean up. Getting closer, Yipee can't wait
