Hey Gang, I bought my other Hova-Bator 1602 this morning and have it setup! Just making sure all temps and humidity's are good before I put my eggs in. What Humidity are you guys running to hatch? I was told 65% I hope thats good? I'm getting pumped!

Ok I'm ready......I think. Candled all 22 again. Removed 10 clears and 1 early quitter. The 10 at the top I'm sure are good but the one at bottom I can't tell so I left it in because its an egg from my litte handicapped red cochin hen "Ruby" She gets picked on occasionally and if this little chick hatches I am going to put it under her since she is broody right now. I'm so excited everyone !!! Good luck to all. Here we goooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, you want it about 65 when you lockdown. When they start hatching, the humidity will go up some.

I have a stupid ??? What is/does Lockdown mean???

I went into lockdown today at 1 pm. Filled tray 1 and 2 of my genesis 1588 and my humidity jumps to 99%. So I empty tray 2 and now I'm at 77%. These readings are off my accurite therm/hygrom I did calibrate it. Now my Genesis reads 59%. ambient humidity is 40%. What should I do?

I'm not sure how/where your accumeter is? but I think your Hovabator hygrometer reads from the top right? Reason I'm asking is because I have a accurite digital from walmart and its sensors are on the back...so if you have it just laying on the wire floor with an open back the humidity would not ready correctly. Atleast that was my case mine was going crazy and I put a news paper on the bottom between the floor and the hygrometer now it's reading 58%. I have a filling this might be the case for you aswell? I will also add that I filled both my center trays that are shaped like the letter P I did not fill the 2 outside trays. I also have a question could everyone here please post what/where your putting water and how much? also what your humidity's are running??? I would like mine to get to 65% does this take a while to move up?? before I just start putting more water in? Thanks
