Set eggs under broody 4/30 Anyone want to join me?

I just set 14 eggs under my RIR. I picked them up from MrsSmith today and they're a mix of EEs, an olive egger, and BCMs. I wanted to fit as many eggs as I could under her but I'm concerned I may have overdid it... She's a first time broody and she's been sitting on some of my unfertile eggs for a week. Hopefully everything goes well

I put 10 eggs under my two broodys on the 28th so they'll hatch a bit earlier than yours (18th may), hope you dont mind. It makes me even more exited hatching along with people

Hi! We gave our Black Silkie 8 eggs yesterday morning (April 30). She is just about a year old, and this will be her second time. She hatched out 2 at the beginning of February (which was our first experience with a broody). She was an excellent mom the first time around; her 2 chicks are now fully integrated with the 30 adult chickens.

It was a wonderful experience and my girls and I are very excited she has decided to hatch again!

I just thought I would check in and see how everyone's broodies are doing. So far so good here. My broody is still sitting on her 8 eggs.

Do any of you have any chicks yet?

I checked my girl who is on day 19, and I can't believe it! We have a little black chick, still wet. At least 2 more eggs have holes in them from my quick peek. My girls are very excited.

--I now have 7 out of 8 hatched! one more to go, and day 21 is not until tomorrow.

It has now been 20 days and 9 hours and so far, 2 chicks have hatched! Cluck is a proud first-time mama! I took a peek under there cause I was worried about ants harassing the eggs cause I saw some in the nest but it seemed okay. Looks like there are a few pips too! Exciting day!
