Fingers crossed this year for different colors. I started 3 years ago with 18 keets 5 different colors. At one year I had buff, lavender, and one pearl. So all my dominant male was a pearl that was partially pied (white wing feathers) and the 3 females left were all lavender. I had 10 other males! So all my keets last year were pearl or pearl with white wings feathers. This year I have 8 females that are all from last year and mating with pearl/lavender crosses or 2 females that are with my remaining buff male. So I'm excited to see what hatches this year. I haven't found the nest yet with my buff male and his mates. Actually I did find the first one but after a week a predator got the 3 eggs I left in there and they moved it and I haven't found their new one. I'll have to follow them this weekend and see.
My eggs look different this year. Last year they all were speckled like this year I have solid cream ones and speckled ones. Is this normal? Any guesses to what color keets I'll get this year?
