Set more duck and chicken eggs

They are coming out like popcorn!! I have three cochin banties out and ended up slipping them into the brooder because they are MEAN, not just knocking eggs around but pecking.
MagsC-
That's so funny. When I recently hatched some of my bantam cochins they were rascally chicks! I was having a hard time keeping my hands out of the bator during the hatch. They were all over that bator and of course, they hatched a day before my rock chicks so they were even better with thier agility! Sooo cute though. And sassy little suckers like thier daddy!

I did not get to candle my duck eggs last night like planned so I will have to update tonight on the progress. I did put my goose egg on lockdown yesterday though. It's confusing on ducks and geese for me because my duck eggs always seem to hatch earlier than the hatching guidelines say. So for me, I will start lockdown on my waterfowl a couple days early so the embryos can get oriented for a successful hatch.

LOL, yes, my bantam cochins ARE sassy, they are definitely a favorite!

I have one last chick in the incubator, which will make the count at 12.
One of the Polish chicks hatched is all black with a big poof. My daughter started calling him "Cancer patient" and I had to tell her that was in bad taste....

So his/her name is "Lumpy".

What kind of goose egg are you hatching? I have four pilgrims but a long way to go yet.
And my duck eggs always seem to hatch earlier too. Maybe we are keeping the temps about like chickens and that might be a little high for ducks? Just an idea. I have tried to keep the temps at 99 for the ducks but they always seem to creep up higher than I want them to.

Oh, I am getting some white cochin bantam eggs from the same guy that I got the black ones. I hope the hatch rate is as good as it was this time.

My goose egg is a mystery since I bought it at auction. It's the only one that ever developed and it's huge! It's day 25 on that egg and day 8 on the mallard eggs.

Day 8 for the ancona eggs. The air cells seem to be running big so I've increased my humidity.

One week down, three weeks left - you chicken people have it good, let me tell ya

Mags, you're a hatch-a-holic! I'm glad to hear you had a good hatch with the black cochin bantams. The white cochin bantams will be on their way in the morning.

Out of the ones old enough to candle seems I only lost on duck egg, out of 25, the others are to young to candle, added 3 to the bator this morning the girls laid them right outside the door this morning...lol How is everone elses doing?

Sorry to hear about your mallard eggs. Are you sure the shipping wasnt rough on them? Often that happens, its kind of a gamble.
I had one last chick hatch out of this batch, so all total, 14 chicks.

Now I have to switch the quail and two aracauna eggs into this incubator (after disinfecting it), and seeing what comes of the duck eggs that are due in the upcoming week. I did have a temp spike though.

Congrats on your 14 chicks! My mallard eggs were bought at a local auction. I'm just thinking they are old eggs, not a good m/f ratio or something. I got a good easter present yesterday..... my goose has pipped!! He's not getting far with the zipping at all though. I chipped a little around the pip and moistened the membrane before I left this morning for work. Keep your fingers crossed!!

I have a muscovey sitting on eggs her mates are 3 blue sweed crested runner cross LOL should be interesting hatch
