set my eggs on August 9th any one else setting too?

I also only had one hatch, out of 16 Ameraucana eggs, but He/she is a very active healthy chic. I got these eggs mail order which I knew was kind of a gamble, but I still was hoping for more than one.

I suspect rough handling by the post office was the problem.

I had numbered the eggs with pencil, the one that hatched was #13, I think I'll call him/her Lucky. I really hope it's a she I already have a couple Ameraucana roosters, that's plenty.

Okay, so I think I may have been off on my days and tomorrow may be day 21... however Friday when we came home we found that a snake had slithered into the coop and eaten two eggs!!!!! Oh No!!!!! it was still in the coop and the others were all standing in between it and Olivia who was still on the four remaining... Let's hope the hoopla was not too much for the remaining eggs... I actually had to take the snake out of the coop and you could see the perfect shape of the egg in it... I was tempted to cut him open and take it back, but it would be a waste to kill him for an egg that probably would not hatch after that event anyway... so we wait for the remaining four... Keep your fingers and beaks crossed.)

yep she is the one with the bulging belly. it went away as she dried up. I tied thread around the cord so it would stop bleeding. and it helped and dried up and fell off the next morning.

I would have cut the eggs out lol

Yea I know, it was tempting, but I figured it probably wouldn't hatch after being digested partially. However my calendar reminded me that today is hatch day. So we will are what happens.

I set on the 10th.

5 chicks out of 12 made it. #6 doesn't look like it will make it.
These eggs were from hens I just bought, I was told a rooster or two was in with them.
I wasn't very hopeful so it was a nice surprise.
